Please bring a meal for the mindful eating experience.
We are all born with a natural, easy relationship to food and our bodies, but for so many of us this relationship gets damaged. Instead of relying on our body's inner wisdom to guide our eating, we follow external rules and cues.
This workshop will help you:
- quiet your mind and come into your body through gentle and restorative yoga postures and yogic breathing
- learn how to listen to and trust your body's hunger signals
- take pleasure in the foods you love
- practice mindful eating with a guided mindful meal
- rely on your body's wisdom for guidance
Beginners welcome!
The Wisdom of Your Body:
Gentle Yoga and Mindful Eating
with Liz Owen and Rivka Simmons
January 1-4th, 2012 at Kripalu Center, Lenox MA
For everyone; no previous yoga experience necessary.
Start off the new year with a workshop designed to help you cultivate a self-trusting relationship with food, your body, and yourself. We are all born with a natural, easy connection to our physical body and the food that nourishes it. For many of us, that natural relationship goes awry; we lose touch with the
body by following external rules instead of trusting inner knowing.
Learn to quiet your mind and become aware of your body, relying on its wisdom for guidance. This workshop includes:
- Gentle and restorative yoga
- Yogic breathing
- Deep relaxation techniques
Through lessons, exercises, guided meditations, and mindful eating experiences, you discover how to:
- Listen to and trust your body's hunger signals
- Eat the foods you love without guilt
- Eat mindfully
- Respond effectively to emotional eating
Gain the tools and strategies you need to start and sustain a mindful eating and yoga practice at home. You can nurture a compassionate connection with your body and sustain a positive relationship with yourself throughout the year. CE Credits available for this program.
